Sperryville, Virginia Joyce Ann Wharton 1956 — 2023 Joyce Ann Wharton, 67, of Sperryville passed away on September 8, 2023 at Hospice of the Piedmont in Charlottesville, Va. Joyce was born in Woodville, VA on June 28, 1956 and was a graduate of Rappahannock County High School. She worked as a seamstress at Aileen for 21 years before obtaining a Bachelor's of Science and Management degree from Eastern Mennonite University and pursuing her true passion, teaching. Joyce worked as a substitute teacher, an aide, and finally a teacher at Rappahannock County Elementary school for 20 years before retiring in 2019. During her time there she made many friendships and impacted the lives of the children she taught. Joyce's memory will live on in...
