The new Korean drama ‘Twenty Five, Twenty One’ is giving us another trip because of their filming locations. So let me share with you where they filmed the said Korean drama.
The new tvN series Twenty Five, Twenty One [스물다섯 스물하나] is the new apple of the eye of many viewers around the world as it gives a new and refreshing storyline way back in the ’90s.
The said drama is starred by Nam Joo-hyuk (from Start-Up and Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo) and Kim Tae-ri (from Mr. Sunshine and Space Sweepers). Twenty Five, Twenty One tells the story of a student (Kim Tae-ri as Na Hee-do) who loves fencing but due to IMF, her dream was taken away. As she was desperate and believes in herself she finds a way to keep her long dream. Along the way, he met Baek Yi Jin (Nam Joo-hyuk), a guy who came from a wealthy family but later lost everything due to IMF. The two meet when they were 22 and 21 and fall in love when they turn 25 and 21.
Twenty Five, Twenty One is now on its fourth episode so there will be more exciting scenes to wait but before that let me share with you some details about the filming locations of the said drama.

Jeollabuk-do
Na Hee-do’s House
Na Hee-do (Kim Tae-ri)’s house is actually located in Jeollabukdo, known as Jeonbuk or North Jeolla province in the southwest of the Korean Peninsula. A 2-hour travel time from Yongsan station by KTX.

How to get here: Take the KTX from Yongsan Station going to Jeonju Station. From Jeonju station walkabout of 351 meters going to 전구역첫마중길 bus station. Take the Bus 515 (추동-전주대학교) and get off at Dongbu Traditional Market. You can take a taxi to go to Na Hee-do’s house to walk for about 16 minutes.
Hanbyeokgul Tunnel [한벽굴 | 한옥마을 둘레길 (숨길)]
The tunnel is near Na Hee-do’s house and it is called Hanbyeokgul or One Wall Tunnel in English. A horseshoe-shaped tunnel was constructed during the Japanese colonial period from 1929 to 1931. These days is currently used as a road leading to Hanbyeokdang, the Jeonju Natural Ecology Museum, and the nearby Seungam Village.

Comic Rental Bookstore
Unlike the comic bookstore from True Beauty which is a fashion shop, this one from Twenty Five, Twenty One is real.

Seoul
Seoul City Wall [Bukjeong Village, Seongbuk-dong]
When I saw this place in the drama I knew where it is right away because I’d been here. It’s been 2020 when I was doing my GSM mission when I visited Bukjeong Village. The houses are low-rises but they were located at the top of the hill.
It is the Seoul City Wall located in Seongbuk-dong which runs 18.6 km along Baegaksan, Naksan, Namsan, and Inwangsan. Visitors can experience history and culture as it passes Korea’s historic sites including Sungnyemun (known as Namdaemun Gate), Heunginjimun (Dongdaemun Gate), Sukjeongmun (called the north gate), and Donuimun (known as Seodaemun or West Gate).

How to get here: Hansung University Station (Line 4), Exit 6
→ Option 1: Take bus 1111 or 2112 and get off at Seoul Dawon School/Site of Han Yong-un
→ Option 2: ” take village bus Seongbuk 03 and get off at the Senior Citizens’ Center.
Marronnier Park
In episode 8, Injeolmi(Yu-rim) and Rider37 (Hee-do) decided to meet at this park for their first meeting as chat mates. The yellow rose was their symbol to easily identify each other but Yu-rim first saw Hee-do coming with the flower. So she gave the flower to Yi-jin and run away.
Marronnier Park is an open park near Daehakro and Hyehwa Station. It serves as a playground and outdoor stage for many events.

Gyeonggi-do
Suwon Hwaseong Fortress [수원 화성]
In episodes 3, 5, and 16 of the drama the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress – Paldalsan was featured. The bus stop actually does not exist in real life. This was also the place where Bae Yi-jin tied Na Hee-do’s shoelace. Aside from Twenty-Five Twenty One, Paldalsan was also featured in the dramas like Itaewon Class and I’ve Been There Once.
Suwon Hwaseong Fortress is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites which was built during the Joseon dynasty. In 2021- 2022, it is one of the ‘100 Must-Visit Spots in Korea‘.

Gangwon-do
Geumjin Beach
The beach featured in episode 11 where Na Hee-do and her friends took a group photo is Geumjin beach. It is located in Gangneung, Gangwon-do.
Geumjin Beach is located on the east coast of Korea which has quieter and more comfortable vibes. It has a 900-meter long and 63,000 square meters white sandy beach which is really perfect for vacation.

Sampo Beach
Baek Yi-jin takes Na Hee-do and her friends on a trip to this beach in episode 10. He also filmed some of their happy moments to include in the fencing documentary of Na Hee-do and Go Yu-rim.
Sampo Beach is located in Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do opened in 1977. The sandy white beach has 800 meters long and 75 meters wide. It is also famous for its beautiful scenery of pine trees and wildflowers.
