Academic Integrity
Brentwood High School expects all students to abide by ethical academic standards. Academic dishonesty—including plagiarism, cheating or copying the work of another, using technology for illicit purposes, or any unauthorized communication between students for the purpose of gaining advantage during an examination—is strictly prohibited. For more information, please carefully read the BHS Academic Integrity Policy.
Attendance Information for 2024-25
Absences
NEW! Students are allowed up to 5 excused absences per semester:
- These absences DO NOT ROLL OVER to the next semester
- When a student accumulates a total of 5 excused absences per semester, per period, all other absences will be considered unexcused unless a doctor’s note is present when returning to school.
NEW! Five (5) Days to Provide Excuse Documentation
- Documentation to excuse an absence must be submitted within 5 school days of the student’s return after being absent. If this deadline is not met, the absence will remain unexcused. This requirement is true for all types of absences (parent-excused, medical, DMV/Passport, Court, or College Visit).
If your student is going to be absent for the day, please send an email as soon as possible that morning to the attendance secretary, Lori Quinn. Please include Student’s Full Name, Grade, Dates and Time of Absence, Reason for Absence and Parent’s Name. Medical appointments, College Visits, Court Appearances will require official letters from those institutions to excuse these types of absences. The official notes and letters can be scanned or photographed and emailed to Lori Quinn or returned to Student Services when the student returns to school (within 5 days of return to be accepted).
Early Dismissals
We DO NOT accept early dismissal requests by email.
If your student needs to be dismissed early for the day, please complete the BHS Early Dismissal Request Form or have a paper note turned into student services before 8:30 PM.Paper notes should include the student’s given first and last name, time of dismissal, reason for the absence, and a parent/guardian signature. Please write legibly. Students will be given a pass to report to student services for them to sign out at dismissal time. If the BHS Early Dismissal Request Formor paper notes are not submitted on time, please visit the school and sign your student out.
NO PARENT DISMISSALS AFTER 2:15 PM.
Checkpoints Driving Courses
A Checkpoints driving course will be offered for students who are interested in obtaining a parking permit. This is the approved driver safety program for Williamson County Board of Education policy 6.311 that students must complete before obtaining a parking pass.
The course is designed for students who have been driving for less than a year or have recently obtained their driver's license and must be attended by both the student and at least one parent / guardian. Throughout the course, a parent-teen driving agreement will be developed by each family.

To register for one of the above sessions, check the BHS Checkpoints Registration page. More information and a Zoom link for each session will be sent upon registration. Families are strongly encouraged to log on 5-10 minutes early. During each session, cameras must be turned on to verify both student and parent/guardian are in attendance for the entirety of the program.
If there is not a current date posted that works for your family, the course may be taken through any WCS school.

Computer/Network Acceptable Use and Internet Procedures
In compliance with federal law, the purpose ofBoard Policy 4.406 Student Access to Electronic MediaandBoard Policy 4.4061 Acceptable Use & Internet Safety Agreementis to inform students and families of the district’s procedures related to student Internet and electronic media use.
Dress Code
In order for BHS to maintain a safe learning environment that minimizes distractions, the minimum standards for acceptable clothing during the school day can be found on theBoard Policy 6.310 Dress Code.
Parking Pass Procedures
Follow the steps below to obtain a BHS Parking Pass:
Step 1:Attend a Checkpoints Class.Newly licensed drivers and parents are required to attend one of the Checkpoint Driving classes.
Step 2: Purchase a Parking Pass.Parking passes may be purchased at SchoolCash Online.
Step 3: Document Vehicle Registration.Students should complete the Parking Pass Request Form that was emailed to them.
Step 4: Pick up Parking Tag.Parking Tags can be picked up in the Student Services office. Please contact Laura Quinn with questions.
