Job Title: Campus Minister of Care

Ministry/Department: Care

Reports to: Campus Pastor

Status: Full-time, exempt

Supervisory Role: Yes

Objective

The goal of this position is to equip the saints for the work of ministry and the discipleship of the individual. This position will partner with the corresponding campus pastor to shepherd the flock.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with central ministries to deliver ministry at the local campus level. Key central partners include the Care Director
  • Build, lead and pastor/shepherd serve staff teams to accomplish the ministry objectives of Care
    • Lobby support of Pastor Joby and Campus Pastor before and after service
    • In-service care support
    • Follow-up to respond cards
    • Leading campus Care team to respond and receive care recipients
    • Provide care presence at campus as needed in partnership with pastors
  • Partner with Campus Pastor to shepherd and care for local congregation
  • Provide point leadership for funerals at the local campus
    • Support in meeting with family to care for them and help in planning funeral
    • Work with campus staff to lead funeral
    • Work with Care team to provide ongoing care for family
  • Manage Associate Campus Ministers by establishing monthly ministry goals, creating Mission & Morale and weekly 1:1 meetings
  • Assist, as requested, in the execution of weekend worship gatherings; requests could include stage communication, communion leadership, prayer and anointing, etc.
  • Equip and disciple the Care team serve staff to do the work of shepherding attendees of The Church of Eleven22\u00AE
  • Equip campus care leaders to facilitate Care team training and quarterly gatherings
  • Collaborate with Care Director to create new materials to support care teams
  • Ensure benevolence policies and standards are being followed
  • Build and maintain relationships with organizations listed in Needs Resource Guide and mental health professionals
  • Maintain benevolence policies and standards
  • Assist with connecting care needs of church members to Care team members
  • Provide care whenever needs arise, including weekends and holidays
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years of ministry leadership experience preferred, including experience managing teams, volunteers and/or ministry areas
  • Bachelor\u2019s degree preferred

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position is full-time, exempt with expected work hours to include all worship gathering times (typically Thursday and Sunday). Work hours may vary depending on church or care needs.

The church has several big events, (\u201CAll-Skates\u201D) throughout the year to help further the mission of Eleven22. These events are mandatory for all staff to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year.

Our entire staff family is called to action, so that we can continue to be a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and in and out of congregant\u2019s homes. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.

Physical Demands

This role is a primarily sedentary role, but some activity is required surrounding event set up and execution. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Walking and travel may be required.

Ministerial Exception

The ministerial exception furthers the purposes of the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment by barring legal claims against church bodies by staff members who perform religious functions. All church pastors are subject to the exception, but a formal ministerial credential is not required. While there is no rigid formula to determine other church staff members that qualify, various factors are considered to determine which staff members are subject to the ministerial exception (please see handbook).

Staff members who qualify under the ministerial exception are not covered by federal and state employment and anti-discrimination laws. Please see the Human Resources Ministry team if you have questions on whether you are subject to the ministerial exception.
